SCOPE OF WORK

As a member of the WSP Team, Castillo Engineering provided Construction Management for the All Electronic Toll (AET) Conversion Phase SB Sawgrass Expressway Project. This Design/Build project called for the modification to the Sawgrass Expressway’s Sunrise Boulevard and Deerfield Beach toll plazas and the seventeen ramp toll plazas.   The All Electronic Toll (AET) conversion scope included demolition of existing toll plazas, grading and paving, signing and pavement marking, modifications to drainage, traffic signals, preservation of intelligent transportation system (ITS) and installation of new toll equipment structures.  Improvements on this project also included the widening of the southbound Turnpike mainline exit ramp to westbound Sawgrass Expressway and the widening of the northbound exit ramp to Sunrise Boulevard.
